WITH OUR LASER CUTTING PRINTER WE LASER CUT A PRINTER COVER!

The Bionics Institute is a research facility in Melbourne that aims to make a huge difference in what we currently know about ear and eye technologies. Their list of projects is long and impressive, with a current aim being to improve the performance of cochlear implants to make them more readily accessible. The Bionics Institute have always got their sights set on the future and look ahead for innovations that can change vision and hearing procedures.

It was great to work with innovators in a field so different to us! We learnt a lot from this while we made this acrylic printer cover. Have a look at it below!

We laser cut this cover out of 3mm acrylic which is now used to 3D print prototypes of new implantable medical devices. They find artworks online and download them to fit their 3D printer.

For more information on the awesome work they do, check out there Facebook page here: Bionics Institute Facebook. Don’t forget to give them a like!

We love using our laser cutting printer and equipment for various projects. This one was definitely unique and unlike anything we’ve ever done. We can laser cut onto a variety of materials like acrylic as well as wood, cardboard and plenty more. We also offer digital fabric printing, wood engraving and assistance with stationery and packaging.
